Cutting Edge Science
Lincoln Interactive supports the national emphasis on science,
technology, engineering, and mathematics, or STEM, with our
Cutting Edge Science program. Offered to high school students,
these elective courses introduce contemporary science topics
relevant to today's STEM careers. Topics include computer
engineering, solar technologies, bio-fuels, genetics, sports
medicine,
forensic anthropology, and more.
Through collaboration with several research and educational
institutions, such as Los Alamos National Laboratory and California
University of Pennsylvania, students learn from real experts using
simulations, videos, digital labs, and other multimedia tools. For
example, the Land Speed Engineering course was developed in
collaboration with scientists, engineers, builders, drivers, and
other experts from the Utah Salt Flats Racing Association.
In this course, students will study the essential mechanical,
electrical, and physical systems that enable land speed vehicles to
travel hundreds of miles per hour.
STEM Planet
STEM Planet is an online community for students
and teachers to find supplemental educational
activities and network with experts in the fields
